Seriously…China has earmarked some serious funds to develop its greener side.

The country currently gets less than 10% of its energy from renewable sources. By 2020, the Middle Kingdom wants to get 15% from such sources…wind power, solar energy, geothermal…and so on.

China has already earmarked Y1.4 trillion from 2006-2010. Another $186 billion will be spent next year and $555 billion by 2020.

That’s some serious funds. The two leading candidates to pull in some of that money:

1. clean coal

2. carbon capture technology
