Making/Spending Money in China – Olympics Cost $40B

I’ve heard it, I’ve read it. Too late to go to China to do business.

Yeah, right.

China spent some $40 billion in/around Beijing to get ready for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. I guess that means business opportunities are gone there, right?

Wrong.

And, btw, how did China pay for those Games, in that one city alone?

Just this year, for the first seven months, China’s fiscal revenues is Y4.088 trillion. Yep, that’s a “t”. ($597.5 billion) That’s how much have come into China’s coffers so far just this year.  The figure is up 30.5%.

What is China going to spend all that money on?

What do you have to offer China?

There’s a lot of money to be made/spent in China.
