Maxtor Plans Cuts in Singapore

I didn’t know that Maxtor makes the world’s fastest hard drive. I reckon they can get things to move in umpteen nanoseconds faster than the second place guys. And that is probably important to people who move GIANT amounts of infomation.

What I learned was that Maxtor is planning to cut back on jobs in …Singapore. My neighbors in Milpitas, home of Maxtor, will be happy to learn they are not the ones being axed.

It seems Seagate Technology offered $2 Billion to purchase Maxtor and Maxtor is using that as an excuse for why business is in a slump.

A $2 Billion sale….yep, that can be pretty tough for business.

What do you think?
