Hitachi’s Profit is Down

Hitachi is Japan’s largest electronics maker by sales. Sharp is number two.

Sales are up – 9.47 Trillion yen (that’s a T) or about $82.3 billion, depending on the Exchange Rates you use to figure it.

But, profits are down….to ONLY $324 million. It was $400 million plus last year. I suppose I would notice the difference, too.

LCD plasma display panels and hard-disk drive operations are off they said.

I can still hear that little girl say "Hitachi" in Japanese TV commercials.

Now, I reckon they will have a sumo wrestler hanging around saying "Hitachi."

What do you think?
