Conoco Phillips is Using My Money
Now I know why I am paying out the gazoo for gasoline.
Here in Silicon Valley and right down the street across from FRYS at the SHELL station, the cheap stuff is $2.71/gallon. Does anybody else pay more than that?
Come to find out that CONOCOPHILLIPS made $13.6 Billion last year on $162.4 Billion in sales!!! Holy mackarel! Something is wrong with this picture.
I am pushing my little COROLLA every third mile so I can save on gasoline while these fat cats are rolling in dough, oil or some other form of grease.
And what are they doing with it? ConocoPhillips plans to invest $3 Billion in Russia’s LUKOIL company.
Dang it! Why didn’t anybody ask me if they could use the .75 cents a gallon extra I pay before they planned to buy into Russia?
This stinks!

Hi Bill,
I’m glad to see at least one other person is concerned about the current gas prices. At least your post attempts to answer my recent one Gas Prices Spike Again – WHY?. There has to be some reason and it certainly isn’t the supposed supply & demand issues that keep getting cited.
Notice I’m the only person who commented here on your post and my post has only comment as well. Apparently everyone else has no problem with these high prices. It must be wonderful to have so much disposable income to donate to oil companies.

Hi Matthew and Bill, I read this with interest and why did I not comment earlier? Like others who concentrate on change in several areas, I’m learning to “choose my fights,” so that I can help to spark a few positive changes each day.
So as I filled my tank at BJ’s for $2.51 a gallon, today I am glad to see others raising the issues in blogs. Thanks for helping us to speak up!

I wish more people would speak up.
Price gouging?! I’ll say.
Thanks for your comments.
