Bank of Japan – Interest Free Loans

The Bank of Japan offers interest free loans. No kidding.

Yesterday, actually it was two days ago, depending on where you live, because it is already tomorrow there as I write this from CA. But I don’t plan to publish this until the day after tomorrow so that will make it a few days ago…okay, now I am lost.

Anyway, 4/10 Japan’s Bank of Japan decided to keep its key interest rate at zero and wait on raising its rates.

Apparently, it was a unanimous decision…always is. That’s the way Japan does business, by consensus. My bet is that the decision was made BEFORE the meeting on Tuesday. That’s the way Japan does business, too. There are no surprise votes at board meetings.

Japan plans to raise the rates gradually = read imperceptibly.

But if you need a loan to get a business started in Japan, you sure can’t beat zero interest, now can you?

But then you will no doubt need collateral out the gazoo.
