Arrest Warrants Against Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta – IPL Tax Issue

The Chandigarh court has announced a sentence that Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia and fellow industrialist Mohit Burman, to be arrested on the count of failing to appear before the court. They are the owners of the IPL team Kings XI Punjab, and had failed to file their balance sheets and annual returns in context of the IPL season.

Bailable arrest warrants have been issues against all of the three owners of the IPL team, and they have been accused of not even one of them or even their representative counsels have failed to appear before the court on the scheduled date. The complaint against the team was filed by the Registrar of Companies (ROC).

One of the co-owners, Karan Paul counsel appeared before the court, and he has been issued that date of 4th October to be present in the court for further hearing. KPH Dreams, the company which owns the KingsXI Punjab had failed to disclose their financial status after the IPL, by not filing their returns and balance sheets. Zinta, Wadia and Burman, were provided the date of 24th of July to appear before court after their last hearing in April, but they failed to do so.
