The US Gives South Korea a Big “NO”

South Korea wants to include goods made at Kaesong Industrial Complex in its bi-lateral trade agreement with the US.

The US says, "No way!"

Kaesong Industrial Complex sits across the border in communist North Korea.

The US and North Korea, of course, don’t get along…and for good reason.

Franklin Lavin, under secretary for international trade said, "We have no negotiating authority, no congressional authority to include any other economic entity in that bi-lateral agreement."

My guess is, South Korea will ‘buy’ the goods made in Kaesong making it their own and then ‘resell’ it to the US or whomever.

Businessmen are shrewd. There’s always a way.

Naturally. What gets said in public does not affect what actually happens.
Look at all the well known Asian companies that sell goods based on stolen intellectual property!
