Reunion of North and South Korea
There’s talk of reunification for North and South Korea.
I wonder if they have talked to the Germans about their experience.
It seems that North Korea has something that South Korea wants and the South has something that the North wants.
The North has cheap labor. Read very cheap. North Korean workers get about half of what an unskilled worker in China might demand and demand less than 10% of what their South Korean counterparts rake in.
That’s a big difference!
North Korea, wants, um…money. Anything.
According to Businessweek by, 2012 Kaesong could be home to some 725,000 jobs and generate $500 Million in wages.
Through tax magic another $1.8 billion could make its way north as well.
Dear Kim’s first priority may be political preservation. But, greed, desire for material goods and affluence might also appeal to someone so base as well.
Will that be good for the North Koreans?
Perhaps.
What do you think?
