Indian City Hires Eunuchs to Collect Taxes

Eunuchs used to work for Indian rulers in their harems. They were castrated when they were boys so that any desire to take advantage of the girls could not be, um, extended to the girls.

Nowadays, the eunuchs are only partially castrated because of ‘female feelings.’

They make their living from tips by dancing at weddings and blessing babies. They are also believed to be extremely stubborn and do not take no for an answer.

Hence, the city of Patna has hired the eunuchs to help collect taxes from businesses and soon, private homes.

The first day on the job, the neuters collected 425,000 rupees. They have just 700 million to go.

Gee, I don’t know, if some person showed up at my door in a high squeakly voice, started dancing and then launched in to a persuasion for me to pay back taxes, I might do it, just to get rid of them.
