Educating the Masses – at 28% of the total?!

India's enrollment at secondary and higher secondary schools has jumped 30% in the past 8 years.

The percentage of female students has grown 40% during that same time period.

The number of schools in India has grown 20-fold since 1950 from 7,400 schools to more than 152,000 in 2004-05.

However….the gross enrollment ration of 14-16 year olds stands at just 51.55%!

The gross enrollment of 16-18 year olds is only 27.8%!indian.education.jpg

Barely one in four Indians get to finish 12 years of school.

India has a very long way to truly educate its masses.

It seems like there is a great opportunity for some education entrepreur/s here.
