Do You Want to Have Sex with this guy? Japan’s Long Work Hours Leave Little Time For Sex
Japan’s health ministry says that 20% of Japanese men in their 20s and 30s work more than 60 hours a week.
About 50% of them return home AFTER 8pm.
The result says the Health Ministry, couples are likely to conclude that they don’t have the TIME or ENERGY for kids.
Though the Health Ministry encouraged companies to allow men to take child-care leave, in 2005 only .5% of men did compared to 72% of women.
These long hours that Japanese men work….if Japanese men actually WORKED all those hours perhaps Japan would surpass the world in productivity despite its small size.
My experience it that Japanese men spend a lot of time at work, but it is NOT all productive. The real work doesn’t start till late in the afternoon and into the evening.
The other scenario is men must socialize with the colleagues in the evening and it is called work. Well, it kind of is.
In any event, by the time Japanese men get home, nobody feels like reproducing.
The result – long days at work is linked to the declining Japanese birthrate…and something needs to be done.
