China and India have been at odds over some mountain territory since the two countried fought back in 1962.

India claims China took territory -abt 125,000 sq km (50,000 sq mi) – from them after the war. China claims land bordering Tibet belongs to them.

The two countries have recently begun to warm up to each other with expanded economic ties and planned collaboration on oil exploration and information technology.china india.jpg

China’s president Hu is going to India next week for a four day visit.

Neither side wants to see this dispute come to the forefront at such an inopportune time.

But, someone didn’t tell the Chinese Ambassador to India…or maybe they did.

At any rate, it behooves all is for these two countries, representing more than one-third of the world’s population, to get along.

What do you think?
