Chennai Weather Forecast, Rain in Chennai, Meteorological Department

Heavy rains are lashing in Chennai and other cities of Tamil Nadu for the past few days and has thrown life out of gear.

The rain has already claimed 13 lives in different parts of the state.

Educational institutions,  Schools and colleges in chennai and many cities of Tamil Nadu remained closed on Friday because of the rains.

Most of the deaths occurred because of wall and roof collapses in districts like Villupuram, Tirunelveli, Kanchipuram, Tiruchirapalli, Cuddalore and Madurai.

Weather officials have forecast heavy rains over the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next two days.

Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea. Chennai Airport recorded one cm rain, the weather office said.
