American Kicked Out and Fined for Entering Hindu Temple

An American tourist ventured into a Hindu temple devoted to Jagannath, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu.

And, boy did the temple priests get mad at the 59-year old engineer from New York.

Not only did they kick him out, they fined him according to temple law – 209jagganath.jpg rupees…a whopping $4.70!

The temple will allow all castes of Indian society to go in, but no non-Hindis….unless they want to pay the entrance fee, er, fine.

Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was once refused entrance because she had married a non-Hindu….and, I reckon, couldn't afford the fine if she got caught.

Have you ever gone to a place where you were not allowed in, but went in anyway?
