China’s Miss World, Zhang Zilin
The 2007 edition of the Miss World Competition was held on Saturday December 1st live from the Beauty Crown Theatre in Sanya, Hainan province, China.
The 2007 Miss World Festival saw 106 beautiful and talented contestants spend an unforgettable month in China.
With the applause of the packed theatre, Julia Morley, Chairman of the Miss World Organization and of the international panel of judges, announced twenty-three-year-old Zhang Zilin, China PR’s contestant as the winner.
She was crowned in front of the worldwide TV audience of over 2 billion by last year’s Miss World, Tatana Kucharova.
First runner-up was Angola, followed by Mexico as second runner-up.
The other two finalists were Trinidad & Tobago and Sweden.
The show told the story of the different activities and sightseeing of the contestants as well as their exciting trip to Beijing.
In Beijing the beautiful contestants recorded the Olympic Torch Relay Anthem.
They also visited the Great Wall and helped the Red Cross raise over US $5.5m to build new healthcare centers across China.
