Why Chinese Don’t Want to Donate Their Bodies to Science

In a land of 1.3 billion people, 50,000 said they would give up their bodies as a donation. Still, they need the consent of their next of kin AFTER they are dead.

The percentage is so small, my calculator choked.

Some 30% say they have considered making a donation but decided not to. Another 20% say they won't even consider it.

The number one reason why – 70% say they are worried that their bodies will be sold for commercial purposes.

Chinese don't mind doing business while they are alive. But, they don't want people giving their body the business after they are dead.

Would you consider giving your body as a donation?

Great post. I think there is real meaning in these numbers. I am just not sure what. A lack of trust in institutions? In one’s fellow man?
