Valentine’s Day : 2.6 million pretty people looking for love on

Nobody wants to spend Valentine’s Day alone.

I just realized that I will be this year.  Bummer….  The missus is in China for the Chinese New Year’s Festival.

Hong Kongites are turning to speed dating in hopes of finding someone to spend that special day with.

Some 2,400 single people have already signed up for several speed dating parties to be held on Valentine’s Day.

Hong Kong cupid agencies make a killing each year, raking in some 20 million HKD as about 65,000 young people swap, er, hunt for partners at 30 agencies.

Not only do the agencies provide an avenue for couples to meet, they also organize parties, dance classes, activities at romantic settings and help clients improve their style, sense and chances of finding love.speed.dating.jpg

Hong Kong has about 2.6 million single engineers, teachers, health care workers and other professionals between 20 and 44 who work long hours and have no time to find a partner.

Cupid had better get some pretty quick arrows ready.

what do you think?
