Uranium Deposits Enough till 2020

China has enough uranium to meet its nuclear power needs until the year 2020…about the time it starts running out of wives. No connection there…but the numbers match.

China gets about 1.1% of its energy needs from nuclear power – abt 6.85 million kilowatts.

However, the country wants to develop the nuclear power industry more…to ease the energy bottleneck.

The country can grow to 4% dependency by 2020 and rely only on its own resources…..but that won't do.uranium.china.jpg

China is in talks with South Africa and Australia about related cooperation and developing new

ways to more efficiently use uranium.

Nuclear power, if managed properly, is a great fuel alternative for China, for the U.S. for any country I suppose.

The important question, of course, is the management, up to and including disposal of nuclear wastes.

What do you think of nuclear power?
