UN Security Council Unanimously Adopts Resolution Condemning DPRK’s Nuke Test
The United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution to impose sanctions on the DPRK because of its recent nuclear test.
The resolution:
1. Condemns the nuclear test![]()
2. Demands that the DPRK eliminate its nuclear weapons
3. Demands that the DPRK eliminate its nuclear programs
4. Imposes sanctions on the DRPK in spheres of nuclear, ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction.
In an explanation following the resolution, China strongly called for concerned countries to act prudently and responsibly.
Japanese UN ambassador called the tests unacceptable and called for necessary measures on Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.
The DPRK UN ambassador said, "Who us? What did we do wrong?"
I think the DPRK is totally stupid. Make no mistake about that. But it seems equally hypocritical to me for countries with nuclear power and nuclear weapons capability to tell other countries that they cannot do the same.
I think a regime like DPRK is dangerous with nuke weapons. I think it is dangerous for any country to have them.
How can some one with a big stick tell a smaller fellow he cannot carry a big stick? It doesn’t make sense to me.
What do you think?
