Textile, Clothing and Accessory Exports Down at 18.5% Growth!
China is happy that textile, clothing and accessory growth was ONLY 18.5% in January.
This figure is down from th 30% growthm year-on-year in November and the 25% growth in December.
Textile exports reached $4 billion last month, up 11.6% and clothing and accessory exports totaled $8.14 billion, up 22.3% over last year.
The United States is accusing China of using export subsidies to help its companies and is threatening to impose a 27.5% tariff.
China's direct textiles and attire exports are said to make up more than 15% of the U.S. market.
Last year, China's textile and exports grew by 18.1%….but much less than the 66% growth the industry saw in 2005.
Okay…so the U.S. doesn't want China to export so many clothes. Then stop buying them!
But, then, if Beijing is subsidizing the companies so they can export products more cheaply…it is indeed unfair.
How can we know the if China is fighting unfairly or not?
In any event, I repeat….if the United States thinks China is playing unfairly…stop buying from them.
