Special Valentine’s Day Treat – Sweet Shanghai Space Spuds
The slightly sweet and purple in color potato, Purple Orchid Three, was bred from seeds that mutated while on a Chinese spacecraft.
Restaraunts are offering the spuds served crispy fried, in salads, dessert and even in iced drinks! And with a disclaimer that eating mutated foods may cause you to become an alien.
China has claimed to produce numerous mutated fruits and vegetables by exposing seeds to space radiation (is that different from regular radiation?), capsule pressure and weightlessness.
So, if I eat a potato bred in weightlessness, will I become more weightless?
China is proud of its space program.
Companies that have bought the rights to be endorsed by the program are even prouder if they can make a million by marketing space products for everyday life.
What do you think?
