Returning PhDs Upset about Job Offers/Possibilities

A special job fair for Chinese overseas students was held in Beijing.

Most of the job hunters were disappointed to learn that the salaries that were offered were much less than hoped for.

Such enterprises and public institutions, such as Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University and Chinese computer giant Lenovo were there to recruit the 2000+ returnees.

Despite holding masters degrees of PhDs the hunters found that some salaries were as low as 3,000 yuan ($375)…less than a pink collar worker educated in China.phd.chinese.jpg

Though workers who were educated overseas are desired, companies seemed unwilling to pay more for them.

Chinese who studied overseas racked up school bills in excess of $50k-60K. It will take a long time to repay that much money on a salary of less than $400.

And China wonders why there is a brain drain.

Chinese companies, along with their governments are the most shameless liers and hypocrites in the world.

They inherit the worst of both the Chinese hypocrisy and shamelessness of the communism.

The cases in point are: 1. Pollution control 2. Food and drugs administration 3. IPR violations.
