Places to Beat – Shanghai

Business Week recently published a special competiton edition. There were five cities that were listed as the places to beat. Three of them are in Asia.

The cities are Dubai, New York, Bangalore, Shanghai and Silicon Valley (Not a city)

Shangahians think they are cool. They think they are business savvy, they think all things good about themselves. And now they have something else to boast about.

Shanghai is one of Businessweeks top five places to beat.

Shanghai and great Shanghai, including Kunshan, Suzhou, Wuxi (Home to China’s best wives), Hangzhou and Ningbo export everything from semiconductors to textiles.

This area alone makes 83% of the world’s laptops. Yikes! What would happen if Shanghai went on strike?

China is working hard to develop the backwoods and Shanghai is strategically placed for supplying goods to the Yangtze River Delta stretching upriver to Chongqing.

Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta base across from Hong Kong may have met its match.

What do you think?
