Pet Dog Tax Proposed

Fifi, Spot, Spike and Noodles are not going to get a free ride anymore if this Chinese lawmaker gets his way.

Reducing the number of animals and fighting rabies is behind a proposed tax to go along with China's "One Dog Policy."

The tax is supposed to balance the interest of dog owners and those who do not raise pets. It will also keep dogs away from lower-income people.literacy%20dog.gif

Gee…and the dog might have been the only friend that homeless guy had.

Last year, rabies killed more than 2,000 people in China.

But the lawmaker says, "rabies don't kill people…dogs do. Tax 'em!"
