Parents Spend the Night on the Floor to Get Children in to See a Doctor
What parent won't go to great extremes for the well-being of their children?
I once drove for about 9 hourse (one-way), paid $300 in toll fees, slept in my car and drove back the next day just to see my son for about 32.2 seconds.
He swam in the all-Japan elementary school competition, came in third and when he touched the wall, he turned to find me in the crows. Not hard considering I am head taller than almost all Japanese who were there.
32 seconds…but it was worth it.
However, my effort pales in comparison to these mom's and dad's who
sleep on floors in the lobby or the hallway of Beijing Children's Hospital just to get
a registration number for the NEXT morning to get their sick children in to see a doctor.
The parents bring their kids in from the countryside and are forced to also sleep in the underground parking lot or outside the hospital gate.
Yup…if that's what it took to get medical care for my kids, I'd do it, too.
What extremes have you gone to for your child/ren?
