Panda Gives Birth To Christmas Twins in Japan

Mei Mei gave birth to Christmas twins at a zoo in Wakayama, Japan.

The two new Panda's were born on Dec. 23rd, the reigning emperor's birthday, a day before Christmas Eve, but still in the heart of the Christmas season.

One of the panda babies weighed just 3oz and is considered premature.

The sex of the two newborns is not known but both mother and cubs are doing fine.meimei.jpg

There are only about 1,590 pandas living in the wild in China. Another 180 have been bred in capitivity…plus two more.

Merry Christmas Mei Mei and partner Eimei, China and Japan.

Let's hope these two younguns help us remember another birth that is celebrated this time of the year.
