Overnight Stardom Not the Chinese Dream
It may be the American dream…to strike it rich, overnight success, to get discovered, but China' Ministry of Education says, "Stardom should not be the only dream of our children."
The point of the attack is China's new wave of reality programs…more than 500 since the launch of "Super Girls" singing contest that attracted millions of viewers.
The ministry chief went on to say, "As an educator and parent, I feel powerless against the media." Here! Here!![]()
More programs depicting the country's scientists and education workers are called for.
Now…THOSE programs might indeed be fun to watch…how diligence that led to a discovery changed mankind, how an educator inspired many to achieve…
Okay…well, if there were such programs I might, maybe, just might, turn my TV on again….if the box still works.
Why do you think people want overnight success rather than to devote themselves to a lifetime pursuit that leads to success?
