On Top of the World in Shanghai

China loves to be number one.

Shanghai plans to add yet another item to the top of a list.

The 101-storey (492 meter) Shanghai Hills World Financial Tower will hold the world’s highest observation deck – 25 meters higher than the CN Tower in Toronto. Spiderman is already making plans.

The tower will be built by Japan Mori Building Co. in cohoots with Shanghai World Financial Tower Co. Ltd.

The tower will be located next to the Jinmao Tower (420.5 meters) and another skyscraper whose height hasn’t been announced.

The tallest building in the world is Tapei’s 101 Tower (508 meters – abt 1/3 of a mile).

The Shanghai Tower will have 381,600 square meters of floor space – about 2.5 times the Mall of America…only going up.

There were will be a Grand Hyatt between the 79th and 93rd floors.

I wonder how Spiderman’s plans are coming.

It’ll be an awesome sight to see those three towers when they are completed.

What do you think?
