NYSE Will Open Beijing Office on Dec. 11th
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will open a Beijing office on Dec. 11th.
On Sept. 4th, the NYSE received permission from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) to open a representative office.
The NYSE is the first foreign office to receive such permission.
The NYSE, of course, hopes to woo more initial public offerings (IPO) in the fast growing Chinese econom.
The NYSE currently has 49 Chinese companies listed, 38 from the mainland, 6 from Hong Kong and 5 from Taiwan.![]()
This year 14 Chinese mainland companies joined the exchange.
Total market capitalization of Chinese mainland companies – $1.1 trillion!
I wonder, why didn't the NYSE choose Shanghai?
