NYSE Wants Chinese Companies

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 30 November 2006No Comment

The New York Stock Exchange confirmed that it will set up and office in Beijing to try and draw more companies from China to list in New York.

The NYSE CEO also said that he was hopeful of helping companies dual list on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and NYSE.

The NYSE has offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo and already lists 31 Chinese companies, 18 from the mainland.

Presently there is no foreign stock exchange on the Chinese mainland.

Will the NYSE be first?

What do you think?
