Nuclear Power Plant Fires Up Two-years Late
The $3.3 billion Russian-built Tianwan nuclear power plant became operational, two years AFTER, its planned start date.
Upon completion of safety and security checks Chinese nuclear experts confirmed the plant's two pressurized-water reactors are ready for full operation.
The plant has already produced 800 million kilowatt-hours since beginning trial operation but there are still 83 additional tests to undergo by Russia's Atomstroyexport nuclear-export monopoly.
Finally the lights are going to come on, well, sometime within the next five months. But, no explanation for the delay will be given. Consumers will be left in the dark on that.
