No Sacrifice of Food for Fuel for One-fourth of the World’s Population

The co-drafter of China's national energy strategies says, "Food security comes first in China, more important than fuel."

China has no plan to sacrifice food for fuel. Biofuels can find another source. China is hungry. They want to eat first, then think about energy sources.

The debate is far from over as to the effects of using maize, palm oil, sugarcane and jatropha to produce biofuels instead of food products.

A U.S. designer of high-tech alcohol plants says, "food versus fuel is 99-percent noise. Do your homework and get a noise filter. Time magazine is not your key reference document."

Does he mean that main stream media is not the authority!?

Oh, my.

In any event, China plans to have dinner, then think about it.

Where do you stand on the biofuel vs food issue?
