Shanghai people are notorious for their pragmatism…even when choosing a spouse.

Until now…finances and good looks were the chief criteria…in that order.

However, young white collar workers have added a new mix to the formula…..personality.  How novel?!

Shanghai's prestigious Fudan University surveyed 649 young white collar workers.

The top five qualities

1. Considerate

2. Healthy

3. Easy-going

4. Smart

5. Good at housekeeping.

Rich and good looking fell to numbers eight and nine respectively.

Thinking about a partner's inner qualities….that sounds pretty practical.

Maybe that's why the Shanghaites have finally caught on.
