Lucky Wedding Day 7-7-07 Nothing Compared to 8-8-08

Lucky numbers are part of the culture of any country.

Seven is the lucky number of the west….Japan uses it, too.

In Hell…its 6 as in 666.

Next month, more than three times the number of couples will be eligible for divorce than usual according to Time, inlcuding Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives and French-born, NBA Champion wannabe Tony Parker.

One online registry services is, The Knot, has 38,000 registrations compared to the normal 12,000 on a Saturday in July. lucky.8.jpg

The Japanese lover's festival falls on 7-7 each year.

The lovers, Kengyu and Shokujo, were separated long ago by the Milky Way and once a year, if the weather is clear in the evening of 7-7 the two lovers get to meet. If couples in Japan aren't marrying on this day, there is sure to be a lot of proposals.

But…I think there will be an even bigger day…though it might just happen in China.

8 is the lucky number there. And next year 8-8-08 is coming. I wonder how many weddings have been marked for that day. I wonder how many couples will ask for induced labor on that day. I wonder how many contracts will be written on that day.

It falls on a Friday.

Do you believe in luck?

I am a pretty lucky person. Unfortunately all my luck is bad luck.
