Knitting Chinese Characters
A man bragged that is wife was to knitting what Tiger Woods is to golf. She could design the most exotic patterns with ease.
One day they had lunch in a real Chinese restaurant (nobody spoke English and all the menus were in Chinese only).
When his wife saw the hand-written menu she became so impressed with the calligraphy that she tucked the menu in her purse.
Some months later a stunning white sweater with some Chinese symbols
hand-stitched down the front was produced.
The woman received compliments galore until one cocktail party when she and her husband met a distinguished Chinese physician who asked the wife where she got the symbols.
She told him abou the menu at the restaurant.
The Chinese physician then asked if the couple if they knew what the symbols meant.
"I'm afraid to ask." she said, "It's a mystery to me, but tell me anyway."
The Chinese man replied, "Cheap dish–but good."
