International Festival of Inclusive Arts Aims at Guinness World Record

Submitted by Bill Belew on Monday, 9 October 2006No Comment

The International Festival of Inclusive Arts will be held from Dec. 2-10. It’s opening event – Beat the Drum for Inclusion will attempt to break a world record.

The organizers will try to gather 11,000 participants on both sides of Victoria Harbor in a mass percussion performance of the Earth Shall Move. I reckon if 11,000 people start pounding drums at the same time, the earth might move.

Perhaps that’s the idea.

What a great way to increase awareness of people with different abilities and challenges.

The festival opening coincides with the promotion of the International Day of Disabled Persons.

It’s refreshing to see China doing something else that is big besides just making more money, building a bigger dam, using more oil and such.

What do you think?
