Hong Kong Holds 1st International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection
This is refreshing – to see someone else take the lead on protecting the environment.
Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt have organized the Eco Expo Asia - the 1st trade fair for environmental protection.
There will be some 120 exhibitions from 19 countries – Chinese Mainland, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Poland, the UK and the United States….![]()
The seminars for trade will address issues such as solutions to:
1. air pollution
2. alternative energy
3. recycling
4. water and waste management
Though the motive seems pure and the result could be a better living environment, my bet is most of the companies are not there so much to provide solutions as they are to drum up business.
I saw a figure not long ago – $1.7 Trillion – that’s a "T" has been spent over the past 10 years to ’save the planet.’
Does it seem to anybody that the more trouble our planet it is in, the more some industries might benefit.
Saving the planet is big business, too.
What do you think?
