Home Prices Out the Wazoo in China
So much for living more cheaply in China.
Apartments in Beijing's Yintai Center are going for $8,750/sq meter = $870 sq/ft.
Shanghai's Riviera apartments go for $1,200 sq/ft. Golly, a 2,000 sq ft apartment (not house) goes for $2.4 million.
But they apartments don't come in that small a size.
The Beijing apartments are located on the 50-53rd floor of a 63-floor building, 150 meters above ground. They are 6,000 – 9,000 sq ft (550-860 sq meters) in size.![]()
There is a problem, however, with these units being priced so high…they are not selling. Shanghai's Riviera has sold only 2 of 220 units in two years.
At that rate, it will be 2225 before they are all sold.
I couldn't buy one, could you?
$870/sq ft for an apartment – too expensive? posted at IndianPad.com
We all don’t buy it, then the price will be down.
