Guandong Issues Compendium on IPR for Next 13 Years

Guangdong Province issued a strategic compendium for the development of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the next 13 years.

By 2010 – 1,250 patents filed for every 1 million people.

By 2020 – IPR development at the level of moderately developed countries

Annual growth rate for patented articles – 13% until 2010.

Annual growth rate for articles invented overseas but patented in China – 20%.

Annual growth of registered trademarks – 15% and 200,000 by 2010.

Export volume created by copyrigh industry – 25% of total

80% of high-tech enterprises will have adequate means to protect their secrets.

60% of large-, medium- and state-owned enterprises will have the means.

IPR will not be fully protected too soon it seems, eh?
