Google Wants to Team Up with China Mobile (Hong Kong)

Google has found a new way to do business in China.

Google is in talks with China Mobile in Hong Kong to team up with them to offer Internet search services in China via mobile phoneo months.

In the near future the Chinese will be able to search on their cell phones.

My question is, and I know I am setting myself up, why would you want to do a Google search on your cell phone?

China Mobile is looking for ways to expand its revenue sources.

Someone is likely to tell me sometime how stupid this question is, but what are you going to search for on a cell phone and more importantly, will you be able to see the results?

I can’t even see what time it is on my phone even when the digits are in supersized mode. I can’t imagine trying to read Google search results on a mobile phone screen, especially if I must go through those stupid sponsored results first.

What do you think?

Thanks for sharing this insight, Adrian.

I guess you have to be there and try to know, eh?
