Google and China.com Hook Up

Despite the beating the Google takes for what it does NOT do in China, Google seems intent on doing what it can.

Google will power the English-language search and traditional Chinese searches for Hong Kong’s CDC Corporation’s China.com.

China.com has some 5 million daily users and Google is arguably the premier search engine on the Net.  Sounds like a good match, eh?

There is no mystery here. Google wants a good name for itself. China.com wants to associate itself with a world recognized company.

The question on some minds, however, will ALL of China.com info be available in the results of a Google search.

Has China.com already submitted to China’s censorships?

In any event, Google, no doubt just sees itself as a service provider in this case and the answers won’t matter one way or the other.

Or do the answers matter?
