GM Cars Have Most APEAL to Chinese
The results of the J.D.Power Asia Pacific 2006 China Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM were released today.
GM cars ranked tops in three of six categories to Chinese.
Chevrolet Spark ranked highest in the compact car segment with 748 points. Suzuki Wagon R had 735 and China's own Xiali had 721.
Chevrolet Aveo led the premium compact car segment with 794 points. Suzuki Swift was second with 777.
The Buick GL8 ranked highest in the MPV segment with 823 points. Honda's
Odyssey had 822 and the JAC Refine had 783 points.
Nissan's Tiida was the highest ranking midsize car with 843 points. Honda City has 825 and Toyota Vios had 820.
Toyota Reiz was number one in premium midsize cars with 843 points. Volkswagen Passat had 840 and Mazda 6 had 837.
Honda Civic was the top point getter and winner of midsize cars with 850 points. The vW Golf had 840 and the Toyota Corolla had 822.
The eight segments that were judged were: engine and transmission; cockpit and instrument panel; ride, handling and braking; heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC); comfort and convenience; sound system; seats; and vehicle styling/exterior.
