Gay Activity in China

Shanghai saw a record number of HIV infections reported last year – 718, of which, 53H HIV patients developed AIDS.

Shanghai first reported HIV infections in 1987. Twenty years later, the number has reached 2,313 infections.

Meanwhile, in Beijing, more than 200 gay men, most in the 30s with a few older fellows and college students, received a free check-up this past weekend.

The hospital will distribute 50,000 "rainbow cards" in gay pubs that will entitle holders to four boxes of condoms a month.

How many condoms are in a box? I have no idea. Let's call it two or three. That means these men are using them 2-3 times a week or more.

So how many people, gays included, really are that active?

Its good to see that China is taking its responsibilities serious to care for all its citizens.

We may be looking a one of the most progressive moves for China’s gay population likely the largest in the world.
