Frog’s Mistress Tea Shop in Shanghai Told to Change Name
A Shanghai tea shop with the name "Frog Keeps a Mistress" (Qingwa Bao Ernai) was told to change its name because the shop was violating China's advertising law.
"The name is also against social morality and common ethics," and official quoted as saying, adding the change was needed to "purify the city's ad markets."
Shanghai, though wealthy and um, sophisticated still has very conservative communist leaders when it comes to politics and culture.
Government officials – Shanghai's former party chief who was dismissed last year for corruption was rumored to have had mistresses – also find the topic of mistresses particularly sensitive.
Or maybe they just don't like being referred to as frogs.
What do you think?
