Mastercard estimates that the purchasing power of younger women in China, living alone or in a married household with no kids is likely to rise from $180 billion to $260 billion in the next 7-8 years.

It is estimated that in nearly 4 out of 5 households the woman makes the decisions for grocery and clothes purchases for the family.

Houses, cars, luxury items, 23% of married women make the decision.

Some 65% of Chinese working women spend 60% or more

of their monthly wages.

Interestingly, the more women make and the higher position they hold, the LESS likely they are to save.

Elderly women in households where their children have grown up and left home will be worth about $150 billion annually in 7-8 years.

In other words….marketers need to catch the women's eyes more than the men's.

Who carries the wallet in your family?
