Chinese Will Eat Anything – Part 203 – Cat Soup
We used to joke about ketchup sounding like cat soup.
It's not funny in China because they eat cat soup there.
A truck filled with 800 live cats (the meat is fresher that way) was stopped by a veteran Shanghai cat rescuer.
The cats were on their way to a market to be slaughtered fresh for customers and then put in hot pots….yum!
After a standoff of several hours, cat lovers raised $1,320 to buy the whole lot.
Now they are looking for homes for the critters…and if
that doesn't work, maybe breed them and sell them for a profit.
The frightened cats bit people, hid out in corners of the truck and tried to run away.
In southern China, cat meat is a delicacy.
If you dip their bodies in hot oil and deep fry them, leaving their heads out…animal lovers will get angry at that, too.
Yup…the Chinese will eat anything…including Whole Roasted Camel!
