Wang Zhongjun and Wang Zhonglei created the Huayi Brothers Media Group in 1994 after Wang Zhongjun came back from the US with a university diploma and $100,000 he made as a part-time cartoonist and photographer.
Wang Zhongjun articulates his ambitions – "…right now, I want to make my company the largest entertainment group in China. Then maybe we can become number one in Asia and even the world."
Huayi Brothers have a new hit on their hands "The Banquet" a 20-million dollar spectacular starring Zhang Ziyi. If she’s in it…it’ll be good, well, at least popular.
In 2004, four Huayi films accounted for 35% of total sales in the Chinese film industry. Holy Cow!
It seems these Chinese Warner Bros are on their way. That being said, Wang will soon be able to add to his Toyota Camry, Benz E300, 560 SEL, S600, SL600, BMW Z8, Z3, X5, 740 …and 60 horse collection.

I heard huo jing lun 霍经伦 or Craig huo, sponsored and invested in a few films in 2003, 2004, 2005. He was originally signed with Virgin Music Taiwan as a singer/artist in 2000. He had turned down two following offers to release music albums due to having to go back to the USA and take care of his father during an accident. However, it is rumored that Zhang Ziyi introduce Huo jing lun 霍經倫 to Hua Yi Brothers for a part in one of the films to be released in 2008.
