Chinese WANT Consumption Tax
Forty percent of Chinese think there should be a consumption tax on luxury items.
Luxury items are jewelry, VIP club memberships and such…things that people with money can afford to pay tax on.
Horizon Research conducted a survey. Not surprisingly, low-income earners preferred the rich get taxed whereas high-income earners didn’t seem to care one way or the other.![]()
In a dual attempt to narrow the gap between the rich and poor AND to regulate energy consumption, on April 1st the government imposed a consumption tax on:
1. wooden chopsticks
2. wooden floor panels
3. yachts
4. luxury watches
5. oil based products
The Horizon Research Group polled 2,552 people in 20 cities. The rich, the report said, would continue to buy luxury goods even the price went up another 10%.
Yep, sounds like the rich everywhere. If they have enough money, they don’t care what it costs.
What do you think?
