A four meter high monument, in the style similar to those of revolutionary heroes, was unveiled at a Beijing art festival.

The monument depicts two of China’s "Super Girls" – Li Yuchun, 2005 champion, and Zhou Bichang, runnerup striking a revolutionary pose.

The monument has created quite a stir in the online community.

The girls are reported to be irritated by the statue.

Super Girls drew an audience of 400 million for its finale after a four-month run.

The art festival organizers say the sculptors will dispose of the monument after the art festival finishes.

In any event …this publicity will do nothing to harm the image of future competitions or the amount of money that comes into the organizers coffers.
